Two major decisions needed:-

1) What do I read first
2) How/where do I shelve the cook book seeing as it's landscape rather than portrait shaped.

1) We've been home for over two weeks now (blushes). Holiday was fantastic, amazing but it's lovely to be back home. I will try to load up some photos if someone could give me idiot proof instructions.

2) Have signed up for the Gather. It seems to be coming round very quickly.

3) I currently have no kitchen. Builders gutted it this morning. Plasterer is currently filling in gaps and doing the new ceiling. Hopefully it should all be done by the middle of next week

4) Am currently in the process of setting up a e-shop for website. Idea is that buyers will be able to buy and pay at same time (via Paypal). To start with will only be new books. Am currently scanning in book covers. Any suggestions most welcome.

I'm sure that there is a lot more I wanted to post but builders need to turn power off ...

Hurrah and Huzzah. Have sorted out LJ cuts

At Nicola's reward assembly this morning, the Head announced who the new Deputy Head is (they've been interviewing for the last two days). It's Mr M who is Helen's teacher. Although I'm delighted for him I can see that the rest of the school year will be 'interesting'. I'm not sure whether he will be able to keep them as his class as for the last 18 months the current DH has not had her own class. As well as the DHing she does a lot of the PPA cover for the juniors.

I just managed to trip over the small step when going out of the 'office' just now. I landed omy my right knee (which is the one I damaged in NZ almost three years ago) and caught my left hip on the stairs. Ouch! I sat with a bag of frozen peas on my knee for 15mins which has helped but ouch! I've taken some ibufropen which will hopefully help.

Luckily I have got the car all week as I don't think I'd manage to walk to school and back this afternoon.

Thank you all so much.
Review went very well. In the end the only people present were myself and Dominic, the headteacher, Helen's class teacher, her LSA and the school SENCo. The original list of those invited was a lot longer. We're very hopeful that she will maintain the same level of support. We're also trying to see if we can sort out the most difficult times for Helen - lunchtimes. The head is going to try to get her some extra hours but we were all trying to come up with some possible strategies to help Helen.

Overall, though they (and we) are really pleased with the progress she is making. Her teacher taught her in reception and is thrilled with the impovement Helen has made.

Once again, thank you all so much. Your support and encouragement means so much

Prayers / Positive Thoughts Please

Any prayers and positive thoughts would be very much appreciated for us this afternoon. We have Helen's annual review for her statement. As she only officially received her statement a year ago this will be the first annual review.

Having talked to her class teacher, LSA and the SENCo before half-term, it doesn't sound like there is any thought of reducing the hours she has help for (currently 17 per week), although a year ago they were wanting to reduce it to 15 and then the next term to 11.

I've managed to put it to the back of my mind for half term but now today they've gone back to school (we also had two inset days) I'm getting more and more stressed.

Weight Watchers

Managed to stay the same this week. Bearing in mind I was at the Gather for the best part of three days I was very relieved!! From Monday to Friday lunchtime I had been good, trying to save a few points and doing lots of walking. Will need to be a bit more careful as I'm sure it will catch me up. I've also got one less point to play with as I'm now under 14 stone.

Another pound gone. Alas, I suspect it may go up next week after the Gather but it will have been worth it.

Was very good when making Chocolate Crunch just now - did not eat any scrapings!! This was the wheat/gluten/egg/dairy free one. Once the chocolate has finished setting can cut it up and then use the tin to make the 'normal' one. Nicola and Helen enjoyed helping make it - biscuit bashing is great fun

Another Half Pound gone

Lost another half pound this week so just one more half pound to go and I'll be back where I was before holiday.

Girls are getting fed up cos I keep making them walk to PO to post parcels but at least we're getting a bit of exercise and practice for 5 September

Lost another half pound this week, although the week before I had put on one and a half pounds (though as that was due to holiday and planning gather I don't think it was too bad - Vikki got the krispy kreme doughnuts!)

I've also had blood pressure checked and that's gone down so nurse was pleased with me and delighted that I've lost some weight.

I've been doing a bit more exercise this week as we've had holiday club at church which is about a mile away so started walking to get back into practice for September (school is opposite church).

Went to Weight Watchers again tonight and I've lost another 2lbs. In the last four weeks I've lost 8lbs which I am thrilled at. I've sat there grinning like the cheshire cat the last two weeks.

Hopefully nurse will be pleased when I go and get blood pressure checked next week. I got told off last time (five months ago).

Hurrah! Someone else came to my sale after school on Wednesday and on thursday morning another lady came up to me and apologised that she'd forgotten to come and would I be having another one. Luckily I hadn't put anything away (procrastination worked then!) so she came round and ordered a necklace.

Am currently drowning in GGBP books - School at and Problem. Was hoping to have got them posted this morning but was searching for a chemist that was open to do an urgent prescription. Aaahhh

As lots of you will have seen from my sig on CBB and emails, I've recently joined Virgin Vie. Having spent so much money with them over the last year or so I thought why not give it a go and get the stuff for free. It's not been that easy by any means and it doesn't help that I live in an area that is rather swamped with VV consultants (six in my girls' school!!).

Went up to the NEC in Birmingham on Saturday for the Christmas launch. Absolutely fab new jewellery and cosmetics. Can't wait for my new kits to come - hopefully this week.

Time to stop procrastinating now and go and cook tea (not to mention cleaning girls' shoes for first day back at school tomorrow)
